2016 INDIVIDUAL NON SPONSORED TRAIL RIDES

Members of Capital Trail Vehicle Association (CTVA) have volunteered to host OHV rides in the Helena and surrounding area beginning January 2016 on the 3rd weekend of each month, with weather permitting. Riders are encouraged to wear appropriate riding safety gear and to bring their own beverages and food. Please contact the ride host for questions and RSVP them to ride because some of these rides have limited vehicle parking space. The host will provide a description and/or map of the meeting location. Therefore, you need to know your riding skills and ride at your own risk.

This is a very scenic ATV route that starts right at Challis, Idaho. You can stay at the motel and take off from there. This route will take you up to 9500 feet and provides some fantastic views of the Challis area plus you can visit the historic Bayhorse Mine site.

You can start and get information at the Yankee Fork Visitors Center.

More information can be found at:
http://www.stayontrails.com/where-to-ride/trail.aspx?name=Bayhorse+Pacific+Mine+Loop
http://www.stayontrails.com/where-to-ride/trail.aspx?name=Lombard+Trail
http://www.visitidaho.org/attraction/ghostmining-era-towns/bayhorse-ghost-town-and-trails-system/

Because of the high elevation, this is an after the snow melts ride. Call the Yankee Fork Visitors Center to get current conditions.
